Crossing the Rainbow Bridge

July 1st, 2010 was the day Loki chose us to be her family.

The kids nicknamed her “Magic Puppy” and would cover her with a blanket before making her reappear with a flourish.

She used to think she was a long distance runner and escape artist, but she’d slowed down over the last 5 years or so.

She’s lived with us in 2 states and 3 houses.

She loved chasing birds, and barking like a professional hype dog.

She licked too much and was leery of the cat.

Loki wasn’t perfect, but she was perfect for us.

At 14.5 she developed cancer that moved into her sinuses.

It came on fast and yesterday she crossed the rainbow bridge.

Thank you for being Aly’s support animal.

Thank you for sleeping on my feet all those years.

Thank you for letting the kids dress you up, and for attending bubble parties on the deck.

We miss you already, but will hold onto the memories.

Love you, Lokers.
