I have had a hard time finding information about this cover that I found interesting. Hugo Stinnes was German entrepreneur and politician. In 1923, TIME magazine called him the New Emperor of Germany due to his vast wealth and power.

The majority of Hugo Stinnes wealth was acquired through shady business. By exploiting the inflation crisis, he was able to borrow large sums of money in order to purchase coal mines, steel mills and other businesses.
Just like the current world we live in, money bought power and influence back in 1923. Stinnes was a member of the Reichstag party. He demanded the abolishment of the 8 hour work day. He supported political antisemitism.
Not exactly a great humanitarian in my opinion. From what I have read, he probably would have gotten along with Hitler. He was actually accused of financing him and Ludendorff, but Stinnes secretary denied that they had ever met.
Hugo Stinnes died in 1924. His schemes and debts caught up with him shortly after. His business empire collapsed when the creditors came to collect.
