Hello Lovelies!
I am having a super slow Monday. We had a busy weekend filled with playdates, swimming and a local parade. Oh! We also had an impromptu cousin sleepover. To say I’m tired is an understatement, but of course I’m awake because my brain is in overdrive.
You see, I have been contemplating an idea in my brain for a while now. I think I want to start my own small business. I know the timing is terrible, with planning a cross country move, but I can’t get it out of my head. I want to mix, package and sell my own signature spice blends.

Crazy, right? There are grocery stores that sell convenient spice blends in every neighborhood. What will make mine stand out? That question stumped me for a minute, but I think I figured it out. Each of my spice blends are going to come with a fun recipe to get customers cooking.
I have a long way to go before I go live. I need to create a logo, set up an etsy shop, print labels and reserve a few tables at local vendor shows once we are settled. It’s a daunting task, but I am so excited to get started. That’s why I am sharing this recipe to go along with my first spice blend, Apple Pie Spice.

Apple Pie French Toast is one of my favorite things to make for breakfast, especially on a slumber party weekend. The egg wash is seasoned with Apple Pie Spice and then we have a mini topping bar with apple pie filling, whipped cream and maple syrup. I only use the apples and whipped cream.

Apple Pie French Toast
Ingredients
- 8 slices of brioche bread
- 1 tsp Kristie’s Kitchen Apple Pie Spice
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/8 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
- 21-ounce can of apple pie filling
- 2 Tbsp of butter for cooking
- Whipped cream or syrup for serving
Directions
- Whisk together the eggs, apple pie spice, half & half, brown sugar, vanilla and salt in a medium container.
- Heat your griddle over medium heat. Melt and spread a dollop of butter so that your bread doesn’t stick.
- Dip both sides of a piece of bread in the egg mixture then place it on the griddle. Repeat with each slice of bread until the griddle is full.
- Cook about 2 minutes, or until the bottom side has started to brown. Flip and continue cooking 2 more minutes, or until both sides are golden brown. Repeat with remaining pieces of bread.
- Serve immediately topped with warmed apple pie filling, maple syrup and whipped cream.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does. Let me know in the comments or shoot me an email if you would like a container of Kristie’s Kitchen Apple Pie Spice.
Have a great week.
Kristie
