Hello Lovelies!
We are less than a month away from Bear’s 2nd cheer competition. Hopefully this time we are a little more prepared.

In January, we knew nothing about lucky ducks or Cheer Pins. Bear felt like she was missing out by not being able to sneak up on people and “pin” them with positivity. This time around we will be prepared.

Supplies
- Clothes pins
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Letter Beads
- Stars and tiny ducks

Bear found a lot of inspiration on Pinterest. She used the hot glue gun to attach beads to the clothespins with inspiration like
- CHEER
- FLY HIGH
- CLUB ZERO
- AMAZING
- LUCKY DUCK

The addition of lucky ducks and stars have rounded out the decorations. She made 24 this evening and had 24 white pins left to decorate this weekend. I also ordered her 72 pastel clothes pins that should be here by the end of the weekend.
I’ll definitely share photos after competition.
Have a great weekend.

Hello Lovelies!
Our little Bear turned 10 today, so it’s been nonstop go. We made cupcakes this morning and took her out to ride her new bike before school. This evening, we have double cheer in preparation for competition. That means dinner had to be quick and easy, so I made Healthy Slow Cooker Chicken Chili.

Not the best photo, but that’s because I forgot to take a picture until my second helping. No one wanted to slow down for blog pics. It’s just that good.
In the future, I will start with 1/2 cup of chicken broth instead of 1 cup to see if it’s less soupy. If you have the time, check it after 4 hours and see if you need to add more.
Healthy Slow Cooker Chicken Chili
Ingredients
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
- 2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne
- 1 (14.5 oz.) can diced fire-roasted tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, undrained
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 (15 oz.) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 oz.) can pinto or kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- Toppings: Shredded cheese, guacamole and tortilla strips
Directions
- Add chopped pepper, onion and jalapeño to the bottom of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker.
- Combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt and cayenne in a small bowl and mix well.
- Season the chicken breasts with half of the seasoning mixture, then place on top of the peppers and onions in the slow cooker.
- Add tomatoes, chilies and 1 cup of the broth to the slow cooker. Then sprinkle with remaining seasoning.
- Add the beans to the slow cooker.
- Cook on LOW 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
- Remove the chicken and cut into bite-size pieces. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
- Add desired toppings and enjoy.
This recipe is perfect for busy days. It’s light enough for summer dinners when you don’t want to use the barbecue, but is still comforting.
I hope you enjoy.

Michigan weather strikes again. Since we still had snow in April, it seems we are getting our showers now. I love a good thunderstorm, but they play havoc on my migraines. By the time I’m home from work, all I want is to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie. Yesterday , I watched A Knight in King Arthur’s Court.

At first I thought the actor who plays Calvin Fuller was Mike Vitar from The Sandlot, but he’s actually Thomas Ian Nicholas from American Pie. I was also surprised to see Kate Winslet as one of the Princesses.
The Story
Calvin Fuller is a teenage baseball player who lacks confidence in himself. He’s too scared to even swing at the ball during a baseball game. This leads the rest of the team to treat him like dirt. When he is back in the dugout, an earthquake creates a whole in the earth, and Calvin falls in and travels true time like Alice in Wonderland.
When he lands, he interrupts the black knight robbing from the king. King Arthur asks to meet the boy, and the king’s guard takes him to the great hall. Lord Belasco accuses Calvin of being in league with the black knight, and challenges him to a battle. Calvin chooses a rock battle, and amplifies Walkman, causing Lord Belasco to run from the great hall.
Calvin is invited to stay on as a guest of King Arthur. He gets to train with Master Kane and learns to ride a horse and joust. He also brings some 20th century to Camelot.
The blacksmith makes him a set of rollerblades to give to Princess Kate, and a mountain bike so they can go on a picnic. Meanwhile, Princess Sarah is being pursued by Lord Belasco in hopes of marrying her and becoming the heir to Camelot.

She turns him down flat. The hand of Princess Sarah will be awarded to the winner of a tournament and she insists that he must enter to have a chance. Instead, he plots with his guards and has Princess Kate kidnapped.
King Arthur regains his confidence and helps Calvin rescue the princess from Merlin’s dungeon. He then opens the tournament to all free men, meaning Master Kane can enter and fight for the love of Princess Sarah. He does well, until Lord Belasco knocks him out, but fails to unseat him from his horse.
Calvin takes his place and his armor and return to battle Lord Belasco. Unfortunately, Lord Belasco knocks him from his horse. Calvin is saved by the Black knight, who is crowned the winner of the tournament. Surprisingly, the black knight is Princess Sarah. She gets to choose her knight, and Calvin gets sent home.
He arrives back at the baseball field before the earthquake and gets another chance at back. This time, he has confidence though, and knocks the ball out of the park.
Opinion
It was a cute movie, although not remotely accurate to the legends. I have read Le Morte d’Arthur. There are no female offspring of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere mentioned, and the round table preceded Merlin’s death.
I would have liked a sequel about Princess Kate learning about life in the 20th century. She would have been amazed by cars and TV.
Check out this movie on Disney+.

Hello Lovelies!
I’m looking forward to my 3 day weekend. We aren’t going camping because the camper needs work, but I am getting summer ready with a little self care.

I put on Fake Nails for the first time in ages. They are perfect for drinking lemonade in the sun.

I also painted my toes a pretty yellow color. It’s O.P.I. , Gone Bananas.
Now all I need is a tan.
Enjoy your sunshine.
